REPAIR PROGRAM

Modern Auto Center is affiliated with several well-known insurance companies. Together, we have created a guaranteed repair program.

Language barriers are not a problem at Modern Auto Center. We have interpreters available to assist our customers during any time of the day. We speak English, Spanish, Chinese and Korean.

Our steps with the Insurance Company.

 
  1. Creating a Claim

Filing a claim can be stressful for most customers. The customer would have to: call the insurance company, explain the damages, explain the accident, wait for authorization, get into a rental car. Let us help you with the most effective way of breezing through your claim process. To make an appointment or for general inquiry please give us a call at (323) 731-1010. We can help out with whatever you need in order to get the initial part of the claim flow smoothly.

2. Drop-off / Tow-in

Once your vehicle is authorized by the insurance company it is time for the next step. The customer is allowed to take their vehicle to any shop of their choice. The vehicle does not need to go to wherever the insurance company recommends it is just a suggestion so please do keep that in mind!**

3. Writing the Estimate & Teardown

Once the shop has acquired all the documents and approval from the insurance company we can now start the teardown. We must remove any parts necessary to the repairs of the vehicle in order to examine the damage to your vehicle. No estimate is accurate with all the parts still on since there are many hidden damages which can be missed with just eyeballing the vehicle. Let us do our job in making sure every damage is accounted for by allowing us to tear down the vehicle!

4. Repairs to your vehicle

Once the estimate is completed we are now able to repair the vehicle. We will always follow the manufacturer’s recommendation and protocol to make sure the car is repaired back to its original condition. We quality check our work and keep you the customer updated during the repair process to confirm the target date for your vehicle. If any supplements do occur we will also be sure to let you the customer know as well as the insurance company to make sure every additional damage is accounted for.


 

5. Paint Process

After the repairs are finished we move on to refinishing the vehicle. We make sure to smooth out the surface and prime, match, paint then clear coat the vehicle to protect the newly refinished surface. Your vehicle is then inspected to make sure the color matches before it moves on to the next step.



6. Reassembly

Once the paint has settled we will start to reassemble the body parts and trims to make sure everything is aligned to the vehicle. The reassembly is the best time for our technicians to make sure everything in the car is proper. They can check with moldings and body panels to make sure everything is fit properly and securely to the vehicle.


7. Detailing & Inspection

After the reassembly it is now time to clean, buff, and wax the vehicle. Your vehicle will be thoroughly cleaned inside out to make it feel as good as the car looks. If your vehicle had any ADAS systems replaced or removed/re-installed during the repairs this is the best time for us to make sure the: computers, sensors, radars, and electrical components are all working correctly. Replaced ADAS systems must be re-calibrated in order to assure proper functionality for our customer’s safety.

8. Delivery

Your car is now completed! It has been quite a journey from when you dropped off your keys till when you finally pick it back up. We have made great effort in order to have your car back to what it was pre-collision and we will walk you though our repair process to make sure you are completely satisfied with our service!



**If your vehicle is not in drivable condition (i.e.: suspension damage, hanging parts, broken lights) you as the customer can call immediately to have your vehicle towed into the shop. Please call the shop to schedule a tow as there are “rogue” or “bandit” tow companies on the street. They may take your car to another shop or storage yard. Sometimes those shops/storage yards can charge an high storage rates which the insurance company may only pay a percentage of! So please call us and schedule a tow to be safe and not be caught in this sort of dilemma!
